The Scholastic Bowl team had another solid showing last night, with the A-team notching a convincing win over Waynesboro and dropping a close match to Spotswood. Leland Stevens and Gage Avelos were joined by Eiman Rasheed and Joe Blanton, who made their A-team debuts last night. Great job by everyone!
Who doesn't love frozen yogurt? Mark you calendars for December 2nd, 5:00 - 9:00 P.M. At Sweet Frog in Harrisonburg, that night is TAHS Choral Night! They are donating 25% of all sales during that time to the Choral Department. There is no need for a flyer or telling the cashier. Just fill up a bowl, pay and enjoy. Anytime between 5:00 and 9:00 P.M. works. What an easy way to help out a program and fill your stomach with good frozen yogurt. It will be the perfect treat after a filling weekend of Thanksgiving eating!
There will be a very important meeting for those students who are interested in working as technicians and behind the scenes for musical. It will be on Tuesday November 24 at 3:15 PM in room 124. Congratulations to the speech and debate teams who competed at last night’s ShenVaFL tournament. Medal winners included: Zach Dolack, 1st in Student Congress; Ellie Miller & Danielle Cave, 2nd in Policy; Leland Stevens, 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking; and Barrett Gay, 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking. Honorable mentions went to: Jodi Cleaver, Prose; Michelle De La Cruz, Student Congress; Kat Knighten, Poetry; Kaelyn Spickler, Student Congress; Emily Villacrusis, Humorous Interp; Elizabeth Bullock & Taylor Metzler, Serious Duo; Rachel Moore & Kelly Rohrer, Public Forum, Parker Estes & Seth Stapel, Policy; and Emily Howe & Ben Neher, Policy. Also qualifying for the Champions Tournament were: Anthony Malabad, Lincoln-Douglas and Rachel Slagell, Impromptu. Finally, a special shout out to first-timers Barrett Gay and Gabriela Leija. Way to go everyone!

Great job by captains Leland Stevens, Erin Pearson, and Eli Thies. A special shout out to those who competed in their first-ever match: Gage Avalos, Joe Blanton, Emily Howe, Sam Maggiolo, Allison Miller, Ben Neher, Ian Phillips, Eiman Rasheed, and Emily Villacrusis.
