Congratulations to the six TA General Ag students who competed in the very first FFA General Ag Competition at East Rock on Dec 16! Sam Pittington received a gold rating for his prepared public speech on deer jawbone aging. Kaleb Crawford received a gold rating for his prepared public speech on the weather. Tori Jarboe and Scott Roy both received gold ratings on their presentation of the FFA Motto and answers to FFA trivia questions. Shen Sarco received a silver rating for both the educational and colorful categories in the poster contest. And Mona Rabie received a silver rating for the educational category and a gold rating for the unique category of the poster contest. If you see one of these six students give them a big congratulations and high five for the hard work and success at this very special event!
Science Club members helping with the "12 Days..." skit should plan to meet Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after school in room 222. We will be done at 3:50 P.M.
In honor of the holiday season, the TA Diversity Club is helping end world hunger and poverty. We will be taking donations for the Heifer International Organization during all three lunches today through Friday (December 18). The money raised will go toward the purchase of livestock to provide essential resources for a family and an entire community. Any amount of money will be appreciated.
The TAHS DECA club would like to say a tremendous thank you to the TA family for helping us with this project. With your help we were able to provide gifts and necessities for 200 children in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County! We will deliver the personal hygiene and non-perishable food items to Social Services next week for elderly citizens in need.
Here is a link to an awesome 3D video (thanks to Katie Moran's technology wizardry) of all of the gifts before we took them to Social Services. This is an interactive 3D picture so use your mouse to move around my classroom. Below is a panoramic picture of the room, as well.
For a more complete story, more pictures, and a time lapse video, see the blog entry under Knights in the News.
Any science club members who would like to help with the "12 days skits" please plan to attend a meeting on Tuesday, December 8 in Mrs. Hipps room 222 at 3:15 P.M.
