The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place at Turner Ashby High School at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
The National Honor Society Faculty Council is now reviewing 11th and 12th grade students who are academically eligible for membership. Membership in the NHS is based upon excellence in 4 areas: scholarship, leadership, service and character. To be eligible for membership, a junior or senior must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3/5 and must maintain that average. In addition to the academic requirements, candidates must pledge at least 20 hours of community service each year and demonstrate exemplary character. Students found to be academically eligible should receive a student information form in 1st period today to document evidence of leadership, service and character found in school and community activities. If you did not receive a form but believe you meet the eligibility requirements to obtain one, please see Mrs. Cullers in room 153.
The TAHS National Honor Society is having a bake sale this Saturday (05/14/16) at Bridgewater Foods Supermarket from 10:00-5:00. A reminder to those signed up to bake, please drop off items in Mrs. Cullers’ room after school on Friday until 4 o’clock or at Bridgewater Foods on Saturday from 9:30-10:00. All are welcome to come enjoy homemade baked goods and help support our TA community.
Attention seniors: the preliminary honor cord list will be posted on the front office window and in the Guidance Office on May 26. Please see your Guidance Counselor if you feel your name has been left off by mistake. Honor cords will be available for purchase for $6.00 in the Guidance Office. The cost of the cord will be covered for NHS Members only if your community service hours have been turned in to Mrs. Cullers.
