Congratulations to the students who participated in the Virginia National Archery in Schools Program State Tournament in Doswell this past weekend. High scorer was Amy Mills with a score of 268. Amy also placed 16th in the state Bullseye competition with a 277 out of 300! Nathaniel Knight had a score of 246, Montana Tingler scored 211, Constance Turner scored 198, Katie Zubov and Lura Gurth both scored 192, Hunter Davisscored 178, Michael Frazier scored 127, Tiffani Wehr scored 93, and M.J. Dandridge’s scored 77. Great Job, everyone!
Congratulations to the Turner Ashby High School Destination Imagination team, "Destination Standing Ovation" for placing 1st at the regional tournament on March 3 in Winchester. They have earned the opportunity to compete in the State DI tournament in Richmond on March 24. Team members are Reilly Breeden, Erin Batten, Logan Breeden and Jack Breeden.
FBLA was represented Saturday at the regional conference by Ammara Sheikh, Neshua Mirawdali, Karenell Johnson and Grace Mowery. Chesney Whitmore placed 1st in Introduction to Financial Math and Grace Mowery placed 1st in Introduction to Business Communication. Grace and Chesney are eligible to compete in state competition in April.
Congratulations to the FFA members who competed at the FFA Area Rally yesterday. Tyler Simmers placed 3rd in Small Engines, Paul Craun was 2nd in Tractor Operators, Loren Satterwhite place 6th in Creed Speaking and Kendall Knicely got 1st in Extemporaneous Public Speaking and will be moving on to states! Great job!

Congratulations to the DECA Competition team for their hard work at the Virginia State Leadership conference in Virginia Beach over the weekend. Patrick Ritchie was a finalist in the Marketing Communications event and Claire Dirks and Madeline Hall were finalists in the Advertising Campaign event. These students will complete at the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, at the end of April. Wish them luck. Go DECA Knights!
The Forensics program competed at the Super Regional level on Saturday and qualified 3 Knights for the State Championships. Emily Villacrusis placed 1st in Humorous Interp to lead the team. Ben Neher finished 2nd in Extemporaneous, and Ian Phillips finished 2nd in Prose. Good luck to these students at the next event.
Indoor Track had a strong showing at the VHSL State Championship meet on Friday and Saturday. Sam Quesenberry was the highest finisher for TA with a 2nd place finish on the 500m. Also placing for the Knights were Zach Gery (3rd Shot), Jeremy Christian (4th Long Jump), and Sarah Phillips (8th Triple Jump.
