Meet some of our very friendly monsters!! 👹 🩷✏️ Our kindergarteners worked hard to write and illustrate their own stories about friendly monsters over several weeks. Then today, they traveled across the county to read some “special” books. 😉 TAHS students surprised the kindergarteners with a present-a stuffed monster that looked just like the monsters in the kindergarteners stories! 🧸 The TA students brought their drawings to life based on the student stories! Our K Cubs were so surprised and happy! There were smiles, hugs, and just a great special feeling in the room! Thank you, Kindergarten Teachers and Mrs. Sprague for making this project and collaboration happen! It was a special time! Turner Ashby High School

Some of our fifth graders participated in the KidWind Challenge where teams use what they know about wind energy to design and build model wind turbines. At the competition last week in Charlottesville, each KidWinds team presented their work to judges, measured the amount of energy their wind turbine produced, and had to take a quiz on wind and solar energy. We are so proud of this group of kids! Two groups will be going to the State competition at JMU on April 6. Go KidWinds!
